RESOLUTION OF ISSUE:

There are three parts to the Electronic Fax Inbound Work List that you must understand

1) Recognition of Inbound faxes
User-added image
The incoming fax will only list a PT name and CMN ID if barcode recognition was able to recognize and read the barcode on the CMN itself or the barcode on the Fax cover page if it was included

If the system was not able to recognize a barcode then it will not be listed and be blank.

2) Filing of Inbound faxes (Send to Document Management)

There are 2 Paths that the fax can take based on the following information

PATIENT PATH
If there is only one Patient name/CMN ID assigned to a fax then it will go directly to that Patients Documents when they press send to Document Management

UNFILED DOCUMENT WORK LIST PATH
If there are more than one Patient name/CMN ID assigned to a fax then it will go directly to the Unfiled Document Work List when you press send to Document Management. This will allow the user to open the document in the Unfiled Document Work List and use Easy Sort to break the fax apart and file each page individually

If there are no barcodes recognized and no patient names assigned to a fax then it will go directly to the unfiled work list when they press send to Document Management. This will allow the user to open the document in the Unfiled Document Work List to review and file. If the fax consists of multiple Patients or document types then they can use Easy Sort to break the fax apart and file each page individually as needed.

3) Validating that the faxes were placed into BDM

Each document that is checked to "send to Document Management" will have a report icon available for you to click on.

If you have any doubts where the document currently is, click on the report icon and the document will come up to preview.  Look on the left hand side of the page and you will see either Patient information with a document type or you will see that the document is still listed as unfiled.

This information will let you know if they document has been filed and where or if it is still sitting in the unfiled document worklist for you to find and/or file.
